Heavy duty Polyurethane floor screeds are a trowel applied three component system, generally installed at 6-9mm. They are heavily filled with aggregates and offer an impervious, extremely chemical and abrasive resistant finish. At an installation depth of 9mm, these products can be steam cleaned making them an ideal floor solution throughout the food & drinks industry and others like it. A coving detail can also be applied within the same system to help improve cleanability and hygiene standards.
Polyurethane screeds give the highest level of durability to date and FeRFA, the UK resin’s governing body, classifies these screeds as Type 8. This means they are the most hard wearing, robust screeds on the market. As they have fairly low levels of viscosity compared with epoxy screeds, they can be applied simply by hand trowel if necessary, which produces a heavy duty matt anti skid surface. This is proof against almost everything, including steel wheeled traffic and substantial impact and abrasion
Self-Smoothing Polyurethane Screeds
Medium Duty: Ferfa Type 5-7
Typical Thickness > 3-6mm
medium duty flow-applied/self smoothing flooring systems are filled with finer aggregates to provide a smooth, and attractive Matt finish as well as offering excellent wear resistance, good cleanability and abrasion qualities. These systems can also be finished with a coving detail to provide further hygiene and cleanability. These systems can also be sealed with a seal coat if further UV Stability is required or a Gloss finish is preferred, this will also help to minimise the porosity of the end product.
